TAMINA VERA WIDMER

I was born in Basel and grew up in a theater family, where art, creativity, music and the stage were always a part of my life.

From a young age, I was fascinated by the stage, and my 10 years as circus-artist in Basel strengthened my desire to tell stories through transformation. Inspired by my parents – a theater educator and a music lover – I quickly realized that I wanted to touch people through creative work.

After my education as a hairdresser in Basel, I moved to Berlin to complete a 3 years education as a Make-up Artist for Film, Fashion and Theater. My work took me from Germany and Switzerland to Los Angeles and Mexico. I was particularly moved by the Mexican culture, which deepened my love for artistic diversity and which is why i decided to live in Mexico in Quintana Roo/Bacalar. For almost 4 years, I had an Art Residency there with my Partner - a place where art, music, healing and relaxation came together in a unique way.

​Since 2019, I’ve been back in my hometown Basel, working as Artist at the Theater Basel, where I experience the magic of transformation every day.

But art is not the only form of expression that inspires me. Yoga has become an essential part of my life. What started as a way to find balance, has grown into a journey of self-awareness and lightness. Yoga has shown me how valuable it is to be present in the moment, to feel the body, and to step into the flow of life. After completing my first 200h yoga teacher training, I’ve had the opportunity to lead workshops and classes at festivals and studios, blending movement and creative expression. For me, there is a deep connection between art and yoga. Both invite us to discover our uniqueness and experience ourselves anew through movement, expression, and presence. It fills me with joy not only to transform characters but also to support people on their journey, creating spaces where creativity and body awareness can flow together in an inspiring way.
